BETTY DETAMORE TAKES FINAL BOW

Dear Theatre Friends,

It is with great sadness that I let you know that our dear friend and colleague, BETTY DETAMORE, passed away peacefully this past Sunday, January 8, 2012, surrounded by her family in Lewisville, Texas.

Many of you will remember what a fine theatre leader, director and actress Betty was in film and on  stage with the Orange Park Community Theatre, as well as the Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre, Alhambra Dinner Theatre, Limelight Theatre, Oasis Theatre Studio, Players By The Sea, River City Playhouse and Theatre Jacksonville when she lived here in the Jacksonville area.

Betty will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in Many, Louisiana, with her Mother, Father and Big Brother, Ray.  A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date in Lewisville, Texas and here in Jacksonville, Florida.  Additional information will be given once more details become available.

Please feel free to share your pictures, thoughts, stories and remembrances of Betty here on our website and keep Betty's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time in their lives.

Peace and Love,
Del Austin, Founder and Editor

I am very excited to begin 2012 by going into rehersal with The Jacksonville Symphony in their fully staged production of Puccini"s La Boheme.  All the sets and director are coming from The New York  City Opera and will be staged circa 1939 instead of the traditional way.

I am looking forward to join New City Rep in Palm Coast Florida in their inagural season doing "Cherie" in Bus Stop in late February. Its a role I always loved and never thought I would get the oppt to portray.  I…
